For our second review of a Champion paper shredder product, we evaluated the Crosscut 8 Sheet paper shredder, model WQ81B. On the surface the specs look good. It features a diamond-shaped cut, and shreds paper faster than many other eight-sheet shredders.

Underneath we were pleased with the shredder motor and mechanism. The WQ81B shredded eight sheets of paper in 5.6 seconds. We shredded one sheet of paper in just 2.1 seconds. It is a good thing jailed, former Enron CEO Kenneth Lay didn't have one of these as the Feds came knocking!

The diamond-shaped cut results in a much more secure cut. Shredded pieces of paper are almost impossible to reconstruct, in contrast with the typical crosscut shredder with horizontal, 90° cuts.
