"Go ahead and throw me."
This keyboard is basically indestructible. I hope it is not too often that you throw your keyboard against the wall (although you may often feel like it). But, most have experienced a keyboard that fell on the floor, or got a chair rolled over it, or stepped on. Adesso did all that when testing the AKB-230, and it held up perfectly.
Another neat feature is the AKB-230’s size and weight. The keyboard is very light, ultra slim and compact in design. That makes it the perfect, portable keyboard to take along for travel and presentations, from office to office or for use at school. The keyboard can be rolled up like a newspaper and thrown into a backpack or briefcase. The keyboard even has a dedicated number pad.
The AKB-230 has a very different texture from the typical hard plastic keyboard. Next, the key-press resistance is more than the typical keyboard. Both differences may take some time getting used to. But for me after a week of using it, I totally forgot about them. Also, if you like to prop your keyboard on your lap, this is not the device for you. As you can imagine, it will droop like a wet noodle.
Adesso claims this keyboard is indestructible and I certainly don't doubt it. This is an innovative device for a low cost of under $30.
